0.1.6 - bomb settings, fixes and changes
In this version I added the basics of ship system settings, starting with bombs. Before they just popped out the back like a dookie and exploded in 3 seconds or so. Now you can time them from 3-10 seconds in Timed mode, have them only explode when hit by the bullet from the ship in Impact mode, or have them explode when they are near something like an asteroid or baddie in Proximity mode. They also will explode when near another explosion, regardless of these rules. The last option is to have the bomb deployed behind or in front of the ship. This allows you to toss them by shooting them, making them very OP when in Proximity mode and dangerous for you in Impact mode.
Bombs won't be a starting item so enjoy them while I tweak them and make decisions. Joule Bugs are being tweaked a bit but I'm not sure about their future other than they will eventually hunt out power crystals and eat them. I also put the collectible magnet back in a very minimal form as it did seem annoying to have to position the ship just right to pick them up. The shield no longer sends the ship flying at crazy speeds doing thousands of damage on impact. Asteroids split unevenly and might look weird ATM as they will split bigger than before, but you are just looking at them at an angle that shows their smallest profile. *wink wink* I'm going to make them procedural Polygon2D objects soon and have them split up into more interesting chunks rather than just be round. Kinda like the classic Asteroid's game looked.
You can land on the station now, shows up as a yellow blip on the radar. You can talk to Bort and much of the logic for that "Quest" is a thing. I worked on some graphics for the princess in the first real mission and boss fight. The main hud has a few buttons to the far right for minimize and closing it. That'll come next time for the nav pannel and we should have a ship droid who helps explain the game and a communications and systems UI, which should complete the main UI system and let me perfect that further.
That's mostly all, there are a few things. I hope someone picks this up and gives it a whirl. I noticed no downloads yet so fingers crossed I get some interest soon! Keep on like a needle in the groove!
