More!
It was a rather productive day. I was able to get a better-looking energy-draining critter and implemented the Polygon2D or Sprite Mesh version. It looks more menacing at least. I will work on it's AI tomorrow and whatever attack patterns it might have. ATM it simply follows your ship and tries to drain your energy. When you are out of energy it slowly damages your ship. It grows the more energy it consumes, which is a hint, I guess?
Also tomorrow, i hope to start working on weapon and auxiliary settings for your ship, as well as getting the shop area designed and maybe somewhat present in the game. It will be interesting, that's the cinematic part and I want to make characters for these cinematic scenes using the Sprite Meshes. 0.1.3 also has a better HUD and a console that opens using the left quote key, above the tab button usually.
I have many plans, namely moving from the default Godot Physics engine to Rapier, a Rust based opensource 2D physics engine. So we'll see how much I can get done this week. Hopefully the weather stays nice and that helps my attitude and health.
Cheers!
