A bit of lag and probably a few days off

Hey! I've been working fairly non-stop since January. I'll probably take a few days to myself and start work again, but I have one small hurdle I'm currently obsessing over and that's the puppet like, South Park style animated NPCs thing. I may have to simplify my concept a bit as it's getting to be a tedious bit of work to get them made and working . Firstly the blender plugin I have is a bit buggy, It seems to mangle the UVs of Godot's Polygon2D sprite meshes a bit and I have to still use the really gross and meh editor within Godot. I'd like to not spend a week making my own tools to enhance this, as I would also have to enhance the animation editor, as it's also very gross and super meh.

I mentioned the space station and first NPC encounter. Well, as soon as the character graphics are figured out I'll move on to the conversaion system and the first Store that will let me start on the economy and ship options system. I moved a lot of the ship mechanics into their own systems so that they can work as such. They will attach to different parts of the ship and depending on attachment points will decide your rollout options. That also lets me make more ships with different abilities and play styles. I'll probalby work on it a little after this post but I need to rest and actually play a game for a change.

I'd like to take a little break and get lazy for a while to avoid burnout. I'm really happy that I've stuck with it like I used to stick with things. A sense of pride and purpose that gives me the feeling that this will be what makes my ultimate life goals happen. It starts with having my own, sustainable workflow and game development business. Then I can work on my AI projects when I can afford the hardware needed. That is future talk though and kind of out of place in a dev log. So, til next time I guess!
